Why businesses hire developers from India
- Value for money: experienced work at prices that suit small business budgets.
- English communication: English is widely used in business in India.
- Overnight progress: the time difference means work can continue while you are offline.
Time zones, in plain numbers
| Your location | India is ahead by | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| USA | 9.5–12.5 hours | Send feedback in your evening, see progress in your morning |
| UK | 4.5–5.5 hours | Several hours of overlap every working day |
| UAE | 1.5 hours | Almost the same working hours |
| Australia (Sydney) | India is 4.5–5.5 hours behind | Morning in India overlaps with afternoon in Sydney |
Five things to agree before you start
- Scope in writing: pages, features and what is not included.
- Price and currency: a fixed quote, for example in US dollars, with no surprises.
- Payment schedule: part upfront and the rest on approval protects both sides. We use 50% advance and 50% after you approve the finished website.
- Revisions: how many rounds of changes are included.
- Ownership: the domain, hosting and code should end up in your name and account.
Red flags to avoid
- Anyone who guarantees a number one ranking on Google. No one can honestly promise that.
- Asking for 100% payment before any work is shown.
- Refusing to register the domain in your name.
- No live examples of previous work.
- Vague quotes without a list of what is included.
